This workshop was aimed to asses regulations specificities in the health sector, cartel enforcement, bid-rigging, health care mergers, abuse of dominance and ideas on how to implement remedies, applying different market definition test or the theories of harm to establish and promote a competition culture.
This event was the first one developed entirely online with more than 150 participants from Latin and Centro America. A part of it has more closely introduced a hypothetical case exercise on the health care merger where participants applied several competition criteria in times of the Covid-19 crisis.
Experts from OECD countries and Latin American authorities presented their experience, and the workshop promoted a broad exchange among all participating jurisdictions.

Peru becomes the third country in the world chosen by the OECD to form an RCC, joining the already existing RCC in South Korea, aimed at training Asian officials; and, the RCC in Hungary, intended to train Eastern European officials. Through the RCC training will be provided to a large number of officials in the Latin American region that are dedicated to the implementation of competition policies and the promotion of competition culture. In addition, the RCC will create an adequate space for competition officials to exchange experiences and strengthen their abilities with the adoption of the best international practices.
