ABOUT US

The OECD Regional Center for Competition in Latin America (RCC), based in Peru, has been established by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the National Institute for the Defense of Free Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI) thus becoming the third regional competition center worldwide, along with Budapest in Hungary and Seoul in South Korea.

INDECOPI is the authority responsible for the implementation and enforcement of competition policies in Peru, promoting a culture of fairness and free competition. It is also responsible for the investigation and sanctioning of anti-competitive practices, as well as issuing recommendations to public institutions with the aim of preventing, promoting and correcting competition distortions that may exist in various sectors of the economy.

The RCC works together with the competition authorities from Latin America and the Caribbean to provide training to their officials in the several areas such as competition law and policies. The RCC, through workshops, seminars and trainings, creates a space to exchange experiences, to deepen skills and abilities, to learn new approaches and methods, and to establish professional contacts with officials from other countries, with the objective of promoting international cooperation between agencies.
